Frequently Asked Questions

1. How does the campaign work?
  • Sign up via the reservation portal and fill in your details.
  • Choose a distribution point near you.
  • Pick the electric bike that best suits you.
  • Select the period in which you would like to try out the e-bike.
  • Collect the e-bike from the chosen distribution point on the agreed date.
  • Have fun cycling!
2. Can I take part for free?

Yes, the campaign is completely free.

3. Why this campaign?

We all want the Brainport region to remain accessible. But that demands a smart choice from all of us: the car must make way for the bike (on occasion). In concrete terms this means that you can try out an e-bike for one week to cycle to work. Besides contributing to accessibility, it is of course extremely healthy, good for the environment and you will save on fuel costs.

4. What does this campaign entail exactly?

Commuters who use the car as a method of transport every day to commute to and from work can test an e-bike for one week. The e-bike is a good and realistic alternative if you live 15 to 20 kilometres from work.

5. How long will this campaign run for?

The campaign lasts until 31 December 2023.

6. Can I take part more than once?

No, to give as many people as possible the chance to try an e-bike, each participant can only take part in the e-bike try-out campaign once.

7. What do I need to do after making a reservation?

When you have made a reservation, you will receive a confirmation. It includes when and where you can collect your e-bike. All you have to do is collect your e-bike from the corresponding location. Make sure you have your reservation number on you when you collect it.

8. Can I cancel my reservation?

Yes, that is possible. The confirmation contains a link to cancel your reservation. Or you can contact De Boom en het Meer’s Support Desk: support@deboomenhetmeer.nl or on 085 8769024

9. Can I collect the bike on a different day to that stated in the confirmation?

No, that is not possible. The distribution points cannot be open different days every week to issue the bikes. They also need time to check the bikes once they have been returned to ensure the next user gets an e-bike in perfect condition. That is why we work with set return and distribution days.

10. What if the e-bike breaks, is stolen or I have another problem with the e-bike?

If there is anything wrong with the e-bike during the try-out week, contact the distribution point or  De Boom en het Meer’s Support Desk. Call 085 8769024 to talk to someone from the Support Desk directly or mail support@deboomenhetmeer.nl

If your e-bike cannot be repaired, De Boom en het Meer will arrange a replacement e-bike within 24 hours.

11. I have broken down on route what should I do?

That’s awful, but luckily De Boom en het Meer has a breakdown service. You will be collected and taken to your destination. Call 085 8769024 to talk to someone from the Support Desk directly. Outside office hours, you can contact the ENRA Alarm Service directly. ERNA provides the break-down service for the Boom en het Meer. In that case, call 088 8778044. ENRA may ask for your policy/insurance number. You can find that in the confirmation.

12. How is privacy handled?

To take part in the E-Bike Try-Out Campaign, de Boom en het Meer requests and collects your personal details. These details are required to reserve the e-bike, to provide good services and monitoring. Read De Boom en het Meer’s privacy statement here. Your details will not be used for any other purpose.

Brainport Bereikbaar has no access to your details. We only receive the completely anonymised data to monitor and evaluate the try-out campaign. In the questionnaire after the try-out campaign we will ask you whether you are willing to take part in a follow-up survey from Brainport Bereikbaar. Should you grant your permission, we will receive your email address, and an employee from Brainport Bereikbaar will contact you about this.

13. As employer what can I do to get my staff cycling more?

We have special in-house e-bike try-out pools for employers. With the corresponding communication material, we inform your staff about this campaign and give them the opportunity to try-out an e-bike for one week. Furthermore, you can make cycling more appealing with a lease scheme or special travel allowance for people who travel to work on a bike. See the options for employers and ask a mobility agent about the options.

14. What does Brainport Bereikbaar do?

We facilitate and encourage mobility solutions which are better, faster, cleaner and healthier than the current options. We do not make promises for the future but put results on the street today. We cannot do that alone. We involve commuters, employers, educational institutes and the logistic branch. We work together with and are commissioned by the 21 municipalities in Southeast Brabant and SmartwayZ.NL.

15. Can we also participate in other Brainport Bereikbaar campaigns?

The e-bike try-out campaign is one of the first campaigns we are rolling out in the region in the coming time. There will certainly more campaigns. You can register via www.brainportbereikbaar.nl for the monthly updates. That way, you will be kept up to date about the latest campaigns.

A congestion free Brainport region, that is our goal. In order to reach that, we combine all kinds of smart travel choices.
